1.99ct Grape Garnet & Tourmalinated Quartz Earrings
This unexpected and dramatic pairing make for an outstanding earring. The bright purple grape garnets will shift color slightly depending on the lighting, playing between a vivid violet and a brilliant deep pink. Tourmalinated quartz is one of my favorite gems for a graphic look, and the crisp look of these exceptional dangles plays nicely against the intensity of the garnets. A handmade frame finishes these earrings perfectly.
- 1.99ct pair of Purple Grape Garnets (Mozambique)
- Tourmalinated Quartz
- 18kt Gold
- earrings measure approximately 30mm long (1.18")
- includes extra large backs for maximum comfort and support
- made in the USA by Cynthia Scott Jewelry
ABOUT THE GEMSTONES
To many people's surprise, garnets are an expansive family of gemstones which come in all colors. Most of the colors are just exceptionally rare; color-shifting purple garnets are definitely a rare variety. Vibrant colors and brilliant scintillation combine for a knock-out look. The color, as with all garnets, is completely natural.
Tourmalinated quartz is a clear quartz playing host to visible tourmaline crystals which have grown in fine needles. Tourmalinated quartz is often mistaken for its better known cousin, rutillated quartz, but they are two distinct materials. Both materials are an excellent example of the inclusion making the gemstone!
