This sculptural brooch features an elegant carving in rare gem silica chrysocolla by master American lapidary Steve Walters. The voluptuous, flowing form showcases the extraordinary color of this luxurious material, where luminous blue-green tones glow with delicate translucence.

A single diamond and a soft pink South Sea pearl are thoughtfully balanced against the sculpture, adding contrast and refinement while allowing the carved gemstone to remain the focal point. The piece is mounted in hand-fabricated 18k gold and platinum, designed to be worn either as a brooch or suspended as a pendant from a variety of necklaces, including pearls.

ABOUT GEM SILICA
Gem silica chrysocolla belongs to the copper mineral family and is among the rarest and most coveted varieties of chalcedony. Its remarkable color comes from copper within the crystal structure, producing luminous shades of blue-green that collectors prize for their depth and translucence.

Fine gem silica is scarce, particularly in material suitable for carving. Its vivid color and soft glow have made it one of the most sought-after gemstones among collectors of rare colored stones. Master lapidary artist Steve Walters astounds in his handling of such a luxurious material.

ABOUT THE LAPIDARY ARTIST
Steve Walters is widely regarded as one of the most influential American gemstone carvers of the modern era. His work is celebrated for its sculptural movement and technical precision, and his approach has shaped much of contemporary gem carving.
